Why Bamblue?

Bamblue is built on raising awareness to a rising, unfamiliar problem- microfibers

Woahh big science word! Yes, you're about to learn something new. 😁 Microfibers are itty bitty fibers that exist in man-made materials such as fleece, wool, and other manufactured materials. These synthetic fibers are washed out in washing machines and pollute the water. This also means that natural materials, like bamboo fibers and cotton, do not have microfibers.

So is washing your North Face fleece jacket harmful to the environment? Yes because these microfibers get washed out of your washing machine, get drained into a stream, then into the ocean, and eventually end up choking fish and other aquatic life. Ouch! 😑

And why does it matter if we harm a few fish here and there? Welllllll because we are caring human beings... but also because the seafood that we eat are contaminated with microfibers and are harmful to our body systems as well! Just imagine, 2 million microfibers are washed out of every fleece jacket. That's a lot, no matter how small these microfibers are!
